Ms. Mulu is the Founding and managing partner at A.Mulu & Company Advocates. She hold an LLM in Oil and Gas Law from the University of Aberdeen, LLB from Moi University and Post-Graduate Diploma from Kenya School of law. Prior to founding A.Mulu & Company Advocates, she worked as a commercial associate at Mboya Wangong’u & Waiyaki Advocates, Head of Commercial Law at Oseko & Ouman Advocates and the Senior Partner and head of commercial law at Mulu & Abuja Advocates.
She is a renown practioner in commercial and corporate law, energy law, real estate and construction law, project finance, mergers & acquisitions, immigration and employment law and intellectual property. She is also the Kenyan correspondent for Islamic Finance News(Malaysia) and is published in Getting the Deal Through International Legal Guide(Project Finance, 2018), ICLG International Legal Guide (Construction Law,2018), Oxford Legal Group(Kenya Chapter,2018) and several pulications in the business daily. Ms. Mulu is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and the East Africa Law Society. She is also a member of the Association of Women in Extractives Industry Kenya(AWEIK).
Her Notable transactions Include:
- Acting for a Hungarian Company in a $5M EPC contract with the National Irrigation Authority financed by the Exim Bank through a Tied Aid Loan Agreement between the government of Kenya and the government of Hungary
- Acting for a real estate developer in the financing and development of a $10M residential project in Nairobi
- Acting for a mining company is a $1M project finance deal and expansion of operations to Tanzania
- Acting for a UK based fund in the acquisition of a a 10MW Solar PV Power Plant and negotiation of the Power Purchase Agreement
- Acting for a mining company in negotiating and closing a $80M commercial contract for the supply of coal to India
- Representing a number of international companies in Africa-focused business expansion activities and immigration law services
